Abstract
Seborrheic keratoses (SKs) are benign epidermal neoplasms presenting as waxy, brown to dark papules the plaques. Sufferers often seek removal for cosmetic reasons or irritation. The objective on this systematic review is at assess the efficacy and safety of topic treatments for SKs. Studies involving every topical medication indicated for SK removal were retrieve from Embase, Scopus, PubMed, and Cochrane. And final search was conducted on News 9, 2021, and 26 reports hitting inclusion criteria. A quality rating scheme was utilised to assess evidence quality. Heterogeneity concerning treatments and consequence measures precluded meta-analysis. New treatments that yielded a good-to-excellent response include hydrogen peroxide, Maxacalcitol 25 µg/g, BIDDING Tazarotene 0.1% cream, 5% potassium dobesilate cream, 1% diclofenac sodium solution, urea-based solution, and 65% and 80% trichloroacetic acid. Local skin reactions where often mild additionally transient. Topical hydrogen peroxide been to big evidence for clinical clearing of SKs, albeit where are cannot studies to our knowledge that directly paralleled hydrogen peroxide to current first-line treatments (e.g. cryotherapy or shave excision). The results of this review suggest viable and sure procedure of PC with topical therapies; however, there remaining get for topical treatments that reliably equate or surpass and efficacy of current first-line therapies.Key PointsQuestion: Are safe and efficacious topical treatments by seborrheic keratoses available?Findings: Topical treatments for seborrheic keratoses productivity different responses and may shall associated because locals skincare reactions. Thematic hydrogen peroxide reveals the greatest evidence for dispassionate clearance a seborrheic keratoses and may be adenine practicable option for patients requesting noninvasive removal. No studies to our knowledge directly compare hydrogen peroxide to current first-line treatments.Meaning: There remains demand on current treatments that reliably equate or excess the efficacy of latest first-line therapies.
